Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, met with Sayyid Hassan Khomeini, the grandson of Imam Khomeini (may his soul be sanctified), in the presence of Haji Hadi Al-Amiri. His Eminence welcomed Sayyid Khomeini to Baghdad and reflected on the life of the late Imam and his role in guiding the Islamic Ummah. H.E. also discussed recent developments in the region and their impact on regional security and relations among neighboring countries.
H.E. highlighted the importance of the relationship between Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran, noting that the Arba'een pilgrimage is an opportunity for the peoples of the region and the world to come together on the path of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), who symbolizes defiance and reform. H.E. praised the Iraqi people for their service to Arba'een pilgrims from both within and outside Iraq, urging the media to highlight this magnificent gathering of millions under challenging climatic and geographical conditions.
H.E. stressed the importance of addressing the intellectual challenges facing Islamic societies, emphasizing the crucial role of religious and social institutions, as well as the seminaries, in this regard.
H.E. reiterated the call for a ceasefire in Gaza, with urgent relief for the displaced and efforts to return them to their homes and rebuild the city. H.E. urged the international community to work towards a comprehensive ceasefire, warning of the dangers of continued conflict and Israel's attempts to expand it, which threaten international peace and security.
