    Sayyid Al-Hakeem discusses UN relations, reiterates support for government to end negotiations with International Coalition with Plasschaert

     

    Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of Al-Hikma National Movement, met with Jeanine Plasschaert, Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Iraq, and discussed the political developments in Iraq, the regional situation, and the bilateral ties between Iraq and the United Nations. His Eminence stressed the importance of transitioning to a phase of bilateral partnerships with the international organization, noting Iraq's successful navigation through various challenges at both domestic and international levels. H.E. stressed the need to maintain the stability achieved through the sacrifices of Iraqis from all walks of life. H.E. highlighted the crucial role of provincial councils and local governments in enhancing stability, as well as sustaining the momentum of reconstruction and development. H.E.'s complete support was expressed for the Iraqi government's negotiations with the international coalition to combat terrorism to complete its mission and move towards a phase of bilateral relations beneficial for both parties.

    Furthermore, H.E. urged the international community to take responsibility for the crisis in Gaza. H.E. stated that remaining silent in the face of the genocide targeting an isolated population is a clear violation of international values, principles, and laws, and called for an immediate halt to the ongoing war, provision of aid, and relief efforts for the displaced individuals enduring harsh conditions.
